On November 20, 2019, our Attorney and Certified Public Accountant, Frank Macciocca, presented to students in Harrisburg University’s Business Law & Ethics class at the invitation of Harrisburg University General Counsel and Professor, Jacqueline Conforti Barnett. Frank covered the chapter on Business Crimes to compliment Professor Barnett’s prior class discussion of business entities. His lecture included the general topic of Fraud and its causes in both a civil and criminal context including specific discussions on embezzlement, bribery, financial statement irregularities, tax evasion, insider trading, and money laundering. Questions and answers were continuous especially when the recent example of Theranos and Elizabeth Holmes was discussed. Nikolaus & Hohenadel, LLP supports Commonwealth of Pennsylvania-based educational institutions who are encouraging students to pursue business and law learning opportunities.
