On May 16th, 2023, Housing Development Corporation MidAtlantic (“HDC”) commemorated founding member of Nikolaus & Hohenadel, Donald H. Nikolaus, by dedicating their boardroom in his honor. As aptly put by the current board members of HDC, “Donald Nikolaus was an incredible champion of affordable housing in Lancaster County and beyond. As a founder and former chair at HDC, his legacy cannot be understated. Donald’s work and dedication to the creation and preservation of affordable housing laid the ground work for much of what this organization has been able to achieve over our 52 year history.” The dedication ceremony was attended by, among others: Jack Hohenadel (co-founder of Nikolaus & Hohenadel, as well as Donald’s long-time friend), Robert Cronin (Partner at N & H), Wanda Whare (Partner at N & H), Betsy Nikolaus (Donald’s Wife), Ann Nikolaus (Donald’s Daughter) and Donald’s grandson.
