On June 21, 2018, in the early morning, N-H Elizabethtown partner, Jeffrey Shank, the solicitor for the County Treasurers’ Association of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, introduced a recent addition to the N-H Business Practice, Frank J. Macciocca, at their 70th Annual Convention in Hershey, PA. Frank was asked to share some of his practice areas of taxation, business, and specialized forensic accounting and fraud examination skill sets with the group. He focused in on county government and his recent governmental lawyering experiences with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Office of General Counsel in the context of recent developments in the individualized single game sports betting gambling area with possible impacts on small games of chance. This talk included some background on the May 14, 2018 Supreme Court of the United States decision, Murphy, Governor of New Jersey, et al. v. National Collegiate Athletic Assn., et al., that struck down the federal ban on single game sports betting outside of Nevada and what may be forthcoming for Pennsylvania.
