DONALD H. NIKOLAUS

Donald H. Nikolaus and John P. “Jack” Hohenadel founded Nikolaus & Hohenadel, LLP in Columbia, Pennsylvania in 1973. Donald was born and raised in Columbia, and graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School, Villanova University and Villanova University School of Law. Until Donald’s passing in 2022, he and Jack were the Managing Partners of Nikolaus & Hohenadel, LLP.

Donald was instrumental in guiding the steady growth, success and evolution of Nikolaus & Hohenadel, LLP from its founding as a two-attorney partnership to a vibrant law firm with over twenty attorneys and offices in four locations: Columbia, Lancaster, Elizabethtown and Quarryville.

In addition to his law practice at the Firm, Donald was for many years President and CEO of Donegal Group, a founding Board Member of Housing Development Corporation MidAtlantic, President and Board Chair of the Columbia Water Company, and an active Board member of numerous other corporate and philanthropic organizations.

Donald was deeply committed both to his community and his faith, and always exemplified the highest ideals in his lengthy and successful career as a lawyer. Nikolaus and Hohenadel, LLP is proud to continue the tradition of committed client service and high ethical standards established by our co-founder, Donald H. Nikolaus.
