LISA J. McCoy

Lisa is a partner at Nikolaus & Hohenadel, LLP and is the head of the Family Law Department. She has been in private practice since 1998 and handles all aspects of family law and ancillary matters. Her areas of concentration include divorce, alimony, child custody, child welfare and abuse, parental alienation, support, adoptions, incapacity proceedings, and Protection From Abuse matters. Lisa also serves as a Guardian Ad Litem representing children in high conflict custody cases, and is instrumental in providing a voice for children in those cases. She is trained in family law mediation and collaborative law and has experience with matters involving parental alienation, domestic violence and mental health issues. She continues to educate herself regarding recent developments in those areas in an effort to better service the needs of her clients.

She is a graduate of Widner University, Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Economics, and received a doctorate with honors from Widner University School of Law. She is a member of both the Pennsylvania and Lancaster County Bar Associations.

Lisa has participated in a variety of speaking engagements and professional trainings on topics related to her practice areas and has worked closely with members of the judiciary for various tasks and task forces to improve protocols to better assist individuals in need of family court assistance. She has participated in many activities benefiting our local communities and is an avid supporter of CASA of Lancaster County.

Lisa has been recognized as a Superlawyer in the Pennsylvania Lawyer Magazine for several consecutive years.

During her 25+ years of practicing law, she has been fortunate to have been presented with opportunities that allowed her to establish many attributes that have served her well in earning the respect of her colleagues and members of the bench for sound judgment, decisiveness, fairness, the willingness to learn, attention to detail and commitment to justice.

As a result, Lisa has spent her career assisting individuals and families and protecting the children of Lancaster County with integrity, compassion, courtesy and humility.

Lisa resides in Southern Lancaster County with her husband and their children, and is a regular attendee at community sponsored events.
