Joseph G. Muzic, Jr. was named a PA Super Lawyer in the category of personal injury defense litigation. PA Super Lawyers is a rating service of lawyers in various practice areas who have attained recognition by their peers through nominations and evaluations. The list appears in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh magazines.

Matthew J. Creme Jr. has been appointed Chair of the Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The panel assists the Court in identifying and recommending persons who are qualified for appointment to the position of Federal Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Jeffrey A. Mills and Mandy Lloyd Heinz were both certified as specialists in the practice of Workers’ Compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Section on Workers’ Compensation Law as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. In March 2013, Mr. Mills and Mrs. Heinz sat for the very first Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Certification Examination. The examination was four hours long and covered a wide range of topics within the field. Mr. Mills and Mrs. Heinz recently received confirmation that they both successfully passed the examination. The certifications as Workers’ Compensation Specialists are for five years commencing on May 1, 2013.

Matthew J. Creme, Jr. was appointed by the President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) to serve as the PBA’s appointee to serve on a task force of Local Government Commission of the Pennsylvania General assembly that will complete a comprehensive review of Act 47 of 1987, the Municipal Financial Recovery Act. The task force also is comprised of representatives from municipal associations, research organizations, business interests, higher education, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. Bernadette M. Hohenadel, was appointed to serve a two year term on the Board of the Coalition for Smart Growth, an organization focused on providing education and advocacy on issues pertaining to smart growth and growth management in Lancaster County. The Coalition Board is comprised of representatives from the building and development industry, municipalities, preservation organizations, agricultural community, and affordable housing providers, as well as financial and business leaders in the community.
