On Sunday, January 19th, our tax and business lawyer, Frank J. Macciocca, presented to the Longwood Gardens wedding comprehensive floral design class discussing the key aspects of what lawyers and CPAs can do to offer perspective to talented artists who are working to establish a small business. Planning resources include proprietorship and entity options, maintaining books and records, filing taxes, and obtaining possible tax exemptions and any required licenses. Also, the setting of priorities when planning a business venture and avoiding financial disputes, when possible, were explored in the context of financial forensics and fraud prevention and detection. This has become an annual presentation event for N&H in support of our Lancaster extended community.
